Lawyers for Meta Platforms told a federal judge in California that as a long-delayed shareholder suit over Facebook’s Cambridge Analytica privacy scandal moves toward trial, shareholders shouldn’t be allowed to expand their claims to include allegations that the company made numerous misleading statements or omissions after 2015 about the leaking of Facebook user data to third parties.
