This Beverly Hills bride wore a last-minute Amazon find with an Elsa Hosk blazer – and it was perfect

April 20, 2026

The outfit worn by a bride on her big day is often planned months in advance. LA-based hairstylist Sierra Kener, however, was still panic-ordering just days before her wedding. Yet somehow, she pulled together the kind of effortlessly cool bridal look that looked like it had been crafted for a glossy magazine spread. Modern, minimal and effortlessly chic, it was the epitome of laid-back LA bridal style.

Rather fittingly, given the just-wrapped 2026 festival, Sierra first met her now-husband, Josh Mehl (a long-term friend of Justin Bieber, who served as a witness to his and Hailey‘s courthouse wedding), at Coachella back in 2018. It wasn’t until a few years later – when both found themselves living in New York – that their romance truly began. A Fourth of July proposal in Suncadia, a picturesque mountain town outside Seattle, set the scene for their next chapter, culminating in an intimate civil ceremony at the Beverly Hills courthouse in March 2026.

“Our civil ceremony felt incredibly special in its simplicity,” Sierra tells H! Fashion. “We had no family, just one of our closest friends as a witness and a photographer. We did the window ceremony, which felt very Sex and the City.” With a bigger celebration planned in the Cotswolds next month, the couple used their legal vows to celebrate their union with a moment alone. “We wanted it to be just about the two of us.”

While the ceremony was pared back, the outfit told a more complex story. “It was actually a bit chaotic in the best way,” Sierra admits. “I had ordered a dress from overseas that didn’t arrive in time. I thought a couple of months would be enough time – wishful thinking! But it wasn’t. So I ended up overnighting a few options last-minute.”

Sierra’s hat was a last-minute Amazon find, layered with a headband

The dress she ultimately chose – a timeless silk mini dress from Heiress Beverly Hills – was the epitome of elevated yet understated, aligning seamlessly with her signature aesthetic. She styled it with an oversized Helsa blazer – the cool-girl approved brand founded by supermodel Elsa Hosk.

The accessories, however, came with their own eleventh-hour twist. Inspired by a design from Australian bridal brand Magnolia Ave that also failed to arrive in time, Sierra improvised – and I’m honestly so impressed. “I found something similar on Amazon the night before. I also wanted a net detail, so I ordered a headband, put that on first, and then layered the hat over it.”

“The vision came entirely from Magnolia Ave, and their piece arrived the day after our ceremony – typical!” she laughs.

“The hat ended up being such a defining piece – something a little unexpected that made the whole look feel personal.”

The bride opted for Jimmy Choo shoes

As a bride-to-be myself, hearing that Sierra found a last-minute piece on Amazon felt reassuring – proving that things always work out in the end.

Her next tip is one I’ll definitely be following: breaking in wedding shoes ahead of the big day. She did this by wearing her heels to her legal ceremony first. “I also wore my Jimmy Choo wedding heels, which were thankfully incredibly comfortable,” she says.

The overall effect was polished yet unfussy,  and Sierra describes the look as an elevated extension of her everyday style. “Nothing too overdone, just refined and thoughtful,” she says, noting that it will offer a contrast to her upcoming Cotswolds celebration, where she plans to embrace a more traditional bridal moment.

Her husband also mirrored that effortlessly cool sartorial approach for their first wedding. “He’s very stylish, so he naturally put together something that felt very him – an oversized Dries Van Noten blazer paired with relaxed trousers.”

“For how last-minute everything was, it all came together in a way that felt effortless and completely us.”

The couple wore matching Burberry fragrances on the big day

As a hairstylist, Sierra took a hands-on approach to her beauty look. “Since I knew I’d be wearing a hat, I kept my hair simple with a clean blowout. Doing my own hair felt natural, and I chose to do my own makeup as well to keep everything feeling like me.”

Adding a final, meaningful layer, she gifted both herself and Josh a Burberry fragrance to wear on the day –  a scent they plan to carry through to their Cotswolds celebration. “I love the idea of scent being tied to memory,” she says.

Following the ceremony, the couple checked into Hotel Bel-Air for an evening that perfectly echoed the tone of the day. “It’s so secluded and romantic. There’s a jazz club there, and we just sat together, soaking in the moment of becoming one,” Sierra recalls. An upgraded room with a private hot tub, a bottle of wine and their favourite music made for an idyllic end to the day. “My cheeks literally hurt from smiling, and I had constant happy tears in my eyes. It felt so freeing to have no pressure, no expectations – just us.”

If there’s one detail Sierra would change? Nothing. “Of course, I wish the Magnolia Ave hat had arrived in time,” she says, “but the Amazon one ended up being perfect in its own way – and honestly, that spontaneity feels like part of the story.”
