ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) – The Allen County Department of Environmental Management is hosting an electronic recycling event this weekend.

From 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, community members are invited to 2911 Meyer Road to drop off electronics that the department will then recycle.

According to the department, electronics contain heavy metals that can harm the environment and will not be picked up by curbside trash services.

The department says the electronic recycling event prevents hazardous materials from entering landfills.

Prices for electronic recycling will be as follows for the event:

• 1–5 items: $10
• 6–10 items: $20
• 11–15 items: $30
• 16–20 items: $40

Only cash or a check will be accepted.

In addition to the event, community members can also bring their electronics to designated recycling locations throughout the county.
