PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – A cannabis grow operation in Estacada caught fire on Saturday morning, triggering a two-alarm response.

Around 11 a.m., fire crews were called to a large commercial building on Northwest Noble Drive, where they found heavy smoke pouring from the front entrance.

The fire was upgraded to two alarms because of extreme heat and low visibility inside the building.

Firefighters eventually brought the fire under control.

Gresham Fire crews were also sent to help monitor air quality and other potential safety concerns.

Officials said the elevated carbon monoxide levels dissipated and there was no threat to the surrounding community.

One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion, but no community members were hurt.
