– Seven wind turbines in seven days?– construction boom at German energy farm developer UKA in record week?– over 1.5 gigawatts of onshore wind under construction in Germany?– trend expected to continue

Meissen (renewablepress) – Energy farm developer UKA Umweltgerechte Kraftanlagen commissioned an average of one wind turbine each day for an entire week, a new record for the UKA Group. The wind turbines have a capacity of 44.5 megawatts in total.

Guido Hinrichs, Managing Director Project Development Germany at UKA said: “During this record week, with a new wind turbine commissioned every day, it has become very real to us that the UKA Group has moved into a new phase, with over 1.5 gigawatts of onshore wind under construction in Germany. This is great news for UKA and for all of our partners.”

The 80-megawatt Vietlübbe wind farm is one of the largest currently being built and commissioned by the UKA Group. After 17 long years of planning, construction work lasting about one year so far and many hurdles jumped, everyone here is delighted about what is currently being implemented. This project proves once again that the persistence that is typical of UKA pays off in the end and the team completes even difficult projects successfully. The local residents benefit from an electricity price bonus from the new wind farm.

Cranes will continue to work on many UKA constructions sites in the coming years too, with wind farms of over 2 gigawatts capacity currently moving through German approval procedures. UKA has a total project pipeline in Germany of over 11 gigawatts of wind power, photovoltaics and storage projects.
