Amazon wants its customers to have an easy shopping experience by offering an extended return window this holiday season.

Most items ordered between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31 can be returned through Jan. 31, 2026, if they are in the original packaging or unused condition, according to Amazon’s website.

“We understand that there may be times when a purchase may not meet your expectations or your needs might change,” said Amazon on its help page.

“When that happens, we make completing a return simple and convenient.”

The e-commerce company notes that not all items qualify for the extended return window.

Amazon said Apple-branded products purchased between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31 have return eligibility until Jan. 15, 2026.

Refunds will be issued once Amazon or the third-party seller receives the item and confirms it is eligible for return. It may take up to 30 days for Amazon or the seller to receive and process the return.

Items that cannot be returned

The products listed below are non-returnable:

  • Perishables
  • Products that may pose potential health and safety risks once sold
  • Products with shipping restrictions
  • Customized products made specifically for you
  • Redeemable products
  • Amazon Pharmacy products
  • Pet medication products
  • Certain digital products
  • Automobiles

Products sold as ‘Final Sale’ are non-returnable and not eligible for a refund. These include trading card games, specific discounted items and items sold in the Amazon Haul store that are $3 and less, according to Amazon.

How to start a return

To start a return on Amazon that meets the eligibility criteria, go to Your Orders and select “Return Items.”
