Amazon Invests £15 Billion in UK as It Advances Toward £40 Billion Expansion Target

Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) said it invested more than £15 billion ($20 billion) across the UK during 2025, keeping the group on course to meet its target of investing £40 billion in Britain by the end of 2027.
The spending programme during the year covered the opening of additional operational facilities, expansion of production studios and office capacity, as well as the launch of a pilot programme for drone deliveries.
Amazon also revealed that revenue generated from its UK operations surpassed £30 billion in 2025. The company said it paid more than £1.3 billion in taxes during the year, representing an increase of over 20% compared with 2024. The total included corporation tax, business rates, national insurance contributions and digital services taxes.
The technology and e-commerce giant currently employs around 75,000 people across Britain, making it one of the country’s 10 largest private sector employers.
The UK remains Amazon’s third-biggest global market after the United States.
