Amazon just announced dates for Prime Day, and there are some big changes this year
June 24, 2025
One thing that hasn’t changed, though — Amazon won’t tell you what the deals are beforehand.
CINCINNATI — Amazon has just released the dates for this year’s Prime Day.
It’s almost a Prime week at this point and there are some other changes you should know about.
The biggest change is that this year’s event will be four full days. It starts Tuesday, July 8 and runs through Friday, July 11. The other big change — each of the four days will feature “Today’s big deals,” from major brands from Samsung to Levi’s jeans, according to Amazon.
But the one thing that’s not changing — Amazon still won’t announce sales in advance. That’s to keep you checking back daily, unlike on Black Friday. But Consumer Reports says you can expect deals on electronics, especially Apple products, smart watches, earbuds, and headphones, as well as anything Amazon branded from Ring cameras to Alexa devices, household gadgets, from vacuum cleaners to blenders and back-to-school supplies.
One other downside — you need to be an Amazon Prime member to take advantage, and that costs $139 a year. However, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial as long as you cancel by the end of the month.
With tariffs already starting to push prices higher on imported items, this year’s Prime Day could be well worth shopping.
