Amazon Luna signs multi-year deal with EA to bring big games to cloud gaming
March 27, 2025
Amazon Luna unveiled a multi-year agreement with big game publisher Electronic Arts to bring many of its top games to the Luna cloud gaming service. Luna is also expanding to new countries.
Starting today, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and Dead Space are available to Luna+ subscribers, with more games coming soon.
“Our teams are focused on building experiences that entertain and engage EA’s massive online communities, and we’re excited to partner with Amazon to make those games available to even more people,” said David Tinson, EVP and chief experiences officer at EA, in a statement. “We look forward to a selection of EA games joining Amazon Luna, offering new ways for players and fans to come together across a variety of devices they already own, wherever they are.”
It’s another sign that cloud gaming is starting to get some traction. Other signs include the $10 million funding round for Phynd, a new ad-supported free cloud gaming service coming this year. Another tidbit: Microsoft’s cloud gaming service is expected to reach an annual revenue of $450 million by 2026, a significant increase from $50 million in 2021. Amazon itself is investing heavily in the gaming cloud.
More of EA’s popular franchises, including select games from the EA SPORTS portfolio, will join the Luna library over the coming months, allowing players more ways to play their favorite EA games on their preferred devices—including Fire TV, Fire Tablets, PC, Mac, iOS and Android mobile devices and select smart TVs from Samsung and LG—wherever Luna is available.
Starting today, Amazon Luna is available to players in Sweden, Portugal, Belgium, and Luxembourg, granting instant access to a library of more than 300 games on a broad variety of devices, with no expensive gaming hardware or lengthy downloads required.
Now available in 14 countries worldwide, Luna’s growing library includes hit games like Fortnite, retro favorites, casual titles, and triple-A releases — all without lengthy game downloads or updates or expensive hardware upgrades. Simply access Luna on a compatible device and start playing.
Amazon Prime members in Sweden, Portugal, Belgium, and Luxembourg now also gain access to various Luna benefits each month via Prime Gaming. Wherever Luna is available, Amazon Prime members gain ongoing access to Fortnite, Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, Trackmania and a rotating, monthly selection of games on Luna at no additional cost. Until March 31, Prime members can play WRC Generations, Overcooked! 2, Spitlings, The Jackbox Party Pack 3, and Strange Horticulture, with new titles coming in April. Stay tuned to the Amazon Luna blog to get updates on Luna games available to Prime members where available.
Prime members can also link their Ubisoft or GOG accounts to play select PC games they already own, or purchase hits from franchises like Assassin’s Creed, The Witcher, Rainbow Six and many more. Customers can unlock a wide variety of additional games with Luna’s subscriptions — Luna+, Ubisoft+, or Jackbox Games.
Additionally, the Luna Controller is now available in Sweden, Belgium, and Luxembourg for an introductory price of €44.99 (MSRP of €69.99) / 519.99kr (MSRP of 799.99kr), and will be available in Portugal later this year. The Luna Controller, designed and optimized for Luna, connects directly to Luna cloud servers via Wi-Fi to reduce gameplay latency.
“We’re delighted to bring Amazon Luna to even more players in Europe so they can conveniently access the games they love wherever they are, on their preferred devices,” said Mustafa Hakim, general manager of Amazon Luna, in a statement. “We are also thrilled to partner with Electronic Arts to bring great games, including player favorites from the EA Sports portfolio, soon to our customers. Luna is committed to making gaming easier, more fun, affordable, and accessible for everyone. We have an exciting year ahead of us and we look forward to sharing more soon.”
Today, Amazon Luna is available on a growing list of supported devices, including Amazon Fire TV and Fire Tablet devices, select Samsung and LG smart TVs, mobile devices (iOS and Android), and Windows PCs, MacBooks, and Chromebooks. To get started, customers can sign up for a Luna+ subscription, which includes a 7-day free trial.
Luna is now available in the US, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Poland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Portugal.
