Amazon pitching 30-minute delivery here
June 17, 2026
Amazon’s new mini-warehouse on Main Street will provide a rapid delivery service, Amazon representatives told 2nd Ward residents Tuesday.
The roughly 7,000 square foot warehouse at 2312 Main St., filling a portion of vacant strip-mall office space, will operate as one of about 30 Amazon Now facilities nationwide, Nathan Eady of Amazon told residents.
The service, using Amazon Flex delivery drivers, will deliver goods within a 10-minute driving radius within minutes, Eady said, largely focused on convenience and grocery goods. Eady said other facilities are sometimes able to deliver goods within 10 minutes of a customer placing an order.
The facility gained a positive review from the Land Use Commission last month and is likely to head to the City Council for a final review in the coming weeks, possibly as early as next week. Eady said Amazon hopes to open the facility later this year after renovations inside.
The company plans to hire employees to work inside the building and use independent contractor Amazon Flex drivers, who use their own cars to deliver the packages. The building will not offer a return center, Eady said, though that could change down the road.
Amazon Prime members will be able to use the rapid delivery service by paying a $3.99 fee per order.
