Amazon set to build third location in Wichita metro area
March 25, 2025
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer, is planning to open a warehouse in a suburb of Wichita. On Tuesday, the City of Bel Aire announced that Amazon will construct a facility in the Sunflower Commerce Park.
The new building will occupy 20 acres near K-254 and will be the third such facility in the Wichita area. The facility will be near 53rd Street and Sunflower Court in Bel Aire. The City expects that this latest development will create over 100 jobs in Bel Aire.
The City expects Amazon to begin construction soon, with completion anticipated by the end of 2025.
Once completed, this facility will serve as the final step in Amazon’s fulfillment process, known as a “last-mile facility.” Packages ordered by customers are first processed at sorting centers and then sent to a last-mile center before being delivered to doorsteps by Amazon’s signature blue delivery vans.
