Amazon sets sights on Manhattan with plans for warehouse

City commissioners are expected on Tuesday night to consider approval of a purchase and sale agreement with Amazon, totaling $206,010 for a roughly 15 acre tract of land in the Manhattan Business Park, west of the airport.
The Seattle-based company plans to build a 70,000-square-foot warehouse, which will reportedly serve a broader region around Manhattan for “last mile” delivery services, according to a Monday newsletter from the Chamber of Commerce. Chamber officials say they’ve been engaged off and on with Amazon for over five years, to secure a location for the company.
