Amazon to Build First Same-Day Delivery Station in Memphis

January 22, 2026

Amazon has announced plans to develop Memphis’ first same-day delivery facility, according to a press release from the Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce (GMCC).

The 350,000-square-foot facility will be located at 4131 Clarke Road in Southeast Memphis and is expected to begin operations in late 2027. Once fully operational, the site is projected to employ approximately 100 associates, GMCC stated.

According to the Chamber, the new delivery station will support Amazon’s local package processing and last-mile operations, helping the company meet growing customer demand for faster delivery options throughout the Mid-South.

“Memphis is thrilled to welcome Amazon’s new same-day delivery station, a testament to our city’s growing logistics infrastructure and skilled workforce,” said Ted Townsend, President and CEO of the Greater Memphis Chamber. “This investment will create over 100 local jobs and bring faster delivery options to our residents, further solidifying Memphis as a key hub for e-commerce and innovation in the Digital Delta.”

GMCC also noted that Amazon has worked closely with local leaders and the City of Memphis Development Services team to bring this first-of-its-kind delivery facility to Memphis and the Mid-South region.

“Amazon’s continued investment in Memphis shows confidence in our city’s direction and in the people who make it work,” said Memphis Mayor Paul Young. “This new facility brings jobs, growth, and opportunity while reinforcing Memphis’s position as a hub for logistics and innovation.”
