Amazon to create 300 new jobs with new Chattanooga delivery station

June 15, 2026

Amazon plans to open a new delivery station in Chattanooga that economic development officials expect will create 300 new jobs.

At 3400 Cummings Road, the facility will be about 200,000 square feet and will likely begin operations in 2028, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce. The facility will support local package processing and delivery options as Amazon invests in faster delivery speeds for Southeast Tennessee customers, according to the chamber.

“Amazon’s decision to bring a new delivery station here is further evidence that Hamilton County is one of the country’s most important logistics hubs,” said a statement attributed to Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp in the news release. “This investment will create more than 300 jobs, strengthen our local economy and create new opportunities for working families.”

Amazon’s investment in Chattanooga adds to its broader presence in Tennessee, according to the chamber. Since 2010, the company has created more than 25,000 full- and part-time jobs statewide and invested more than $30 billion in Tennessee through infrastructure, employee compensation and support for small- and medium-sized businesses.

“It’s always great news when you hear that a company like Amazon is continuing to invest in the Chattanooga region,” said a statement attributed to Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly in the news release. “In today’s economy, there are fewer and fewer jobs available for residents who lack certifications and degrees, and Amazon helps to fill this opportunity gap as they upgrade their delivery speed in the Chattanooga market.”

Amazon already operates two fulfillment centers in the broader Chattanooga area — one in Hamilton County near Volkswagen Drive and another in Bradley County.
