Amazon’s Brisbane Pharmacy Hub Pledges Bay Area Meds In Hours

April 3, 2026

On March 12, a nondescript warehouse at 3745 Bayshore Blvd in Brisbane officially became a new cog in Amazon’s healthcare machine, as the company cut the ribbon on a regional hub for Amazon Pharmacy and Same-Day Delivery in the Bay Area. Company reps and city officials said the operation is set up to rush prescriptions within hours to customers in Brisbane, San Francisco, and communities across the South Bay and East Bay once orders are filled.

Same-day meds rolling out across the Bay Area

Amazon says the Bay Area rollout is anchored by two new pharmacy-enabled Same-Day facilities in Brisbane and Richmond, part of a national push to get medications to customers in hours instead of days. According to About Amazon, the sites are built around automated filling systems, temperature-controlled storage and round-the-clock access to licensed pharmacists, as the company scales its Same-Day prescription service to more communities.

Warehouse at 3745 Bayshore built for scale

The Brisbane hub operates inside a 345,000-square-foot industrial complex that Amazon leased in 2022, with the primary building at 3745 Bayshore spanning roughly 268,000 square feet, according to local real estate records. That lease and the building’s footprint positioned the property as a regional fast-fulfillment center, as reported by The Real Deal. The public ribbon-cutting on March 12 capped that earlier deal and followed the company’s broader Same-Day expansion that kicked off late last year.

Why local leaders say it matters

At the ceremony, Brisbane officials framed the new facility as a way to shore up access to medications in neighborhoods where brick-and-mortar pharmacies have become harder to find. Hoodline’s report on the launch amid local pharmacy closures notes that the ribbon-cutting lands in the middle of a wave of recent shutdowns across the region, and Amazon says its Same-Day network is intended to help fill those service gaps.

How to sign up and what to expect

Bay Area residents can see if they are eligible, transfer existing prescriptions and manage refills through Amazon Pharmacy, which outlines pricing details, savings programs and estimated delivery windows. For locals who did not catch the speeches or the oversized scissors in person, the City of Brisbane has shared photos and a recording of the ribbon-cutting on its website and social channels, according to the City of Brisbane.
