Anthea Holding Limited, a crypto-fintech group that offers life insurance solutions denominated in digital assets through its subsidiary, Anthea Insurance Limited, has announced the completion of a US$22 million Series A funding round.

The investment was led by Yunfeng Financial Group Limited, joined by a diverse group of strategic and institutional backers with expertise across insurance, asset management, and financial technology.

This latest funding marks a major step forward in Anthea’s ambition to modernise life insurance for the digital economy.

The new capital will fund the launch of Anthea’s first life insurance policy denominated in Ethereum (ETH) — the first product of its kind globally.

The proceeds will also be used to scale operations, drive product development, and strengthen Anthea’s distribution and market presence across Asia.

“This funding round is more than capital — it is a strategic alignment with partners who share our vision for the future of insurance,” added Alex Pei, CEO of Anthea.

“The past few years have seen the rise of regulated and consumer-centric products and institutions in the digital asset space; it is now time to bring the right combination of innovation and protection to the market. We are delighted to welcome investors with decades of experience in traditional finance and a shared appetite for innovation. Together, we are building a global platform where digital assets and life insurance converge.”

Anthea’s Series A announcement follows the Bermuda Monetary Authority’s (BMA) recent in-principle approval for Anthea Insurance Limited to register as an Innovative Insurer. This regulatory achievement, combined with fresh capital, strengthens Anthea’s ability to incorporate global life insurance standards into the digital asset landscape.

The company is focused on integrating blockchain-based payment systems, developing yield-generating mechanisms, and launching new products designed for both crypto-savvy clients and traditional investors seeking regulated exposure to digital assets.

By combining the security of traditional life insurance with the flexibility of blockchain technology, Anthea aims to redefine how protection and digital wealth management coexist in the modern financial era.
