KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A man is behind bars after glass doors were shattered at two Kansas City dispensaries before hundreds of dollars in cannabis products were stolen.

Platte County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Friday, June 13, indicate that Dante K. Draper, 26, of Kansas City, has been charged in connection with robberies at two area dispensaries.

A criminal complaint filed by the Platte County Prosecutor’s Office revealed that Draper is accused of breaking into KC Cannabis, 8170 NW Prairie View Rd., and Sunrise Dispensary, 6510 NW Prairie View Rd. on April 22. Once inside Sunrise Dispensary, at least $750 in cannabis products was stolen.

Nothing was taken from KC Cannabis; however, glass doors were shattered at both businesses, which sustained at least $750 in damages each.

As a result, Draper has been charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of property damage and a single count of theft.

Court records indicated that a warrant was issued for Draper’s arrest on Friday with the condition of a $150,000 bond. If he is bailed out, he will then be subject to house arrest.

As of Thursday, June 19, Draper appears to have been taken into custody in Jackson County. He remains behind bars there with a hearing not yet set. No further information has been released.
