Arsenal have launched a new global partnership with tech giant Meta, the parent company of Facebook and WhatsApp.

Key details:

  • Fans will have access to new digital experiences and exclusive opportunities through the official WhatsApp channel and Facebook’s official page
  • A series of activations will be produced at the Emirates Stadium across April
  • Those in Arsenal Facebook communities will have opportunities to attend games

Context:

This is the latest sports team partnership for Meta, which has also collaborated with the Mercedes Formula One team, and its biggest in club soccer to date.

For Arsenal, Meta becomes the latest company added to their partnership portfolio, following deals with ADT and HFM last month.

The partnership launch was commemorated with the premiere of a new video, released across Arsenal, WhatsApp and Facebook’s owned channels, including YouTube, Instagram and in-app.

Comment:

“Our partnership with Meta builds on how our supporters already come together, wherever they are in the world, and will create more ways to feel closer and more connected to our club,” said Juliet Slot, chief commercial officer at Arsenal.

“As we continue to compete to win major trophies, partnerships like this play an important role in supporting that ambition and strengthening our connection with supporters.”

Sponsorship remains the most powerful commercial force in sport, yet as investments soar, the ROI gap widens. This April, SportsPro London will deliver frameworks for proving impact beyond logo placement. Learn more here.
