RICHMOND, Va. (WDBJ) – AstraZeneca is deciding where in Virginia it will establish its newest multi-billion dollar manufacturing facility.

It’s the most money the company has ever invested in a single manufacturing site.

Governor Glenn Youngkin said the deal has been moving quickly. He sat down with the CEO just over a month ago and they announced Virginia won the bid this week.

“We put forth an incentive package that I think meets their needs. The capital cost of the project and the number of jobs they are creating, which are great jobs at really attractive salaries,” Gov. Youngkin told WDBJ7.

He said AstraZeneca has narrowed down the site options across the commonwealth and they hope to announce soon where the facility will be located.
