‘Beast Games’ Dethroned In Amazon Prime Video’s Top 10 List By A New Show
February 9, 2025
Despite an extremely poor reception from critics, Mr. Beast’s millions of fans seem to be enjoying and watching his Beast Games reality show on Amazon Prime Video, and the ongoing competition has been planted at #1 for weeks as new episodes air. We are heading toward the grand finale next week, but before that happens, the show has been dethroned on Amazon Prime Video’s top 10 list.
You may be able to guess why, if you follow Prime’s programming. The new #1, of course, is the return of Invincible for season 3, the show’s three episode premiere debuting at the top spot as it begins the run of its eight episode season, which will not be split in half, and it did not take as long to arrive as season 2 did compared to season 3. Shockingly, in fact, season 2 ended in April of 2024 and season 3 began in February of 2025, not even a full year later. That almost never happens in modern streaming, but it appears Robert Kirkman really wants to step on the gas, especially since he has plans to get out eight total seasons of the show.
Season 3 remains at a perfect 100% score from critics and the show has an excellent 96% from fans, higher than season 1 and 2 which had a 93% and 88% respectively. Season 3 has so far been focused on Mark and his brother Oliver, and his new conflict with Cecil. Omni-man has yet to be seen, but that will change soon. Given the reception, the viewership, how fast they can get out seasons, apparently, I would not be surprised if Invincible made it to eight seasons someday like Kirkman wants.
As for Beast Games, the success of that show has reportedly inspired other services to start attempting to assemble influencer/creator-based series, though there are few details on where those types of programs might emerge, and if they would be competitions, reality series, or something else. Mr. Beast’s Beast Games reflects his YouTube channel which is constantly filled with challenges and cash prizes, but other influencers like YouTubers, streamers or TikTok-ers may find it hard to come up with a watchable concept and an audience as broad as Mr. Beast can draw.
My guess is that Invincible stays on top of Amazon Prime Video’s top 10 list until Reacher returns for season 3, which is in less than two weeks on February 20. Reacher has rarely left the top 10 most watched Prime shows since season 2 (even today it’s #9), which is totally wild, and viewership for season 3 is going to be huge. Watch out Mark.
