Beloved new Taskmaster-packed series has just broken records for UK streamer

Last One Laughing UK has reportedly “broken records” for Prime Video.
The Prime Video series sees host Jimmy Carr welcome 10 famous comedians into a locked room and give them one single rule: you’re not allowed to laugh.
The series – which features several Taskmaster stars such as Lou Sanders, Bob Mortimer, Daisy May Cooper, Joe Lycett and Sara Pascoe – has proven to be a huge hit with audiences since its release in early March and has now climbed up to first place on Prime Video’s top 10 chart in the UK.

This means it has now overtaken action crime series Reacher, which had held the top spot for over 200 days.
According to Barb figures (via Metro), Last One Laughing UK‘s first three episodes were watched by 2.9 million, 2.5 million and 2.4 million viewers.

“Amazon Prime’s LOL (Last one Laughing!) has broken records as one of their biggest UK launches ever — the first 3 episodes last week have appeared in the Top 50 shows of the week with 2.5m, 2.5m & 3 MILLION viewers!” fan account SuperTV wrote on X.
Fans have branded the show “brilliant” and are already calling for another season across social media, with one viewer writing on TikTok: “Just finished it, such a wholesome bunch and concept, season two please.”
“I need season two right now,” said another fan, with a third added: “Loved this. Need another series.”

Last One Laughing Ireland has also begun to trend on the streaming chart following the success of the UK version, with the show now sitting at number six.
Hosted by Graham Norton, the cast of comedians for the Irish version includes Amy Huberman, Aisling Bea, David McSavage, Jason Byrne, Deirdre O’Kane, Catherine Bohart, Martin Angolo, Paul Tylak, Emma Doran and Tony Cantwell.
Last One Laughing is adapted from a Japanese gameshow called Documental, and has also had versions in Australia, Canada, Brazil and Germany.
