Big 5 Smartphones Launching Soon: What to Expect in 2025
June 14, 2025
Five major phone makers have outlined models scheduled for release in the middle of 2025, targeting buyers seeking hardware upgrades. Details on launch timing, core specifications and price ranges are now available.
Nothing Phone 3 is confirmed for a July 1 launch. It will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and offer a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 3,000-nit peak brightness. Configurations may include up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage paired with a 5,000 mAh battery and support for wireless charging. The camera array will consist of a 50 MP main sensor alongside an ultrawide and a telephoto lens. The device will run Nothing OS 3 on Android 15, with pricing set at £800 (around Rs 90,000).
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will adopt a book-style foldable design featuring an 8.2-inch inner screen and a 6.5-inch cover display. Power will come from a customized Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor. Leaks point to a 200 MP primary camera on an “Ultra”-level variant. Samsung has noted a reduced weight and size compared with prior models. The new foldable is expected to debut at the Galaxy Unpacked event in July or August.
Poco F7, slated for launch in late June, appears to be a rebadged Redmi Turbo 4 Pro. It will run on a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip and display on a 6.83-inch LTPO AMOLED panel at 120 Hz. The phone will ship with HyperOS 2 based on Android 15 and feature an in-screen optical fingerprint reader. Imaging duties will fall to a dual-lens setup with a 50 MP Sony LYT-600 sensor and an 8 MP ultrawide. Memory options may top out at 16 GB of RAM with 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Battery capacity is set at 7,550 mAh with 90 W wired charging. Pricing is expected between Rs 30,000 and Rs 35,000.
Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max is due in September, with renders showing a camera island spanning the phone’s width, housing three sensors on the left. Reports suggest Apple will fit an A19 Pro chip and equip the Pro models with a 48 MP telephoto lens. A dual-tone finish on the camera bar marks a departure from the current design. Official pricing and final specs will be revealed at Apple’s fall event.
Google Pixel 10 series will arrive in October, powered by Google’s Tensor G5 chip fabricated by TSMC. The base model is tipped to add a telephoto lens for the first time, while maintaining a design similar to Pixel 9. Four models will launch: Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Entry-level and Pro prices will match their predecessors, the XL version may carry a $100 increase, and the foldable Pro model could start at $1,600.
