Bitcoin Falls Again as Investors Cut Risk Exposure

December 16, 2025

Bitcoin was falling following declines in U.S. and Asian equities overnight as investors trim exposures to risky assets ahead of key U.S. data and a raft of central bank decisions.

The delayed U.S. nonfarm payrolls report for November and partial data for October will be released at 8:30 a.m. GMT. The data were delayed due to the recent government shutdown. Other U.S. data this week include retail sales on Wednesday and inflation on Thursday.

The European Central Bank and Bank of England announce policy decisions on Thursday, followed by the Bank of Japan on Friday. Bitcoin fell 0.2% to $86,032, having reached a two-week low of $85,264 Monday, LSEG data show.
