Bitcoin Rises on Confirmation of Trump-Xi Meeting

October 24, 2025

Bitcoin was rising after the White House confirmed President Donald Trump would meet with China’s leader Xi Jinping next week in South Korea.

The two leaders will meet on October 30 on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit. Trump said later Thursday that he thinks “we are going to come out very well and everyone’s going to be very happy.”

The news raises hopes for a de-escalation in tensions. Trump’s threat earlier this month of fresh tariffs on China sparked a selloff in cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin rises 1.6% to $111,390, LSEG data show.
