A yellow level frost advisory has been issued for the Brantford, Ont., with Environment Canada warning of possible damage to some crops in frost-prone areas.

The weather agency said patchy frost is expected this morning as temperatures drop to near or below the freezing mark. 

Damage to plants, trees, and crops is possible, it says.

Environment Canada says people should “cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas.”

Frost is possible again tonight in some areas, according to the advisory.

There will be a mix of sun and cloud in Brantford this morning, becoming cloudy near noon. There’s a 30 per cent chance of showers late this afternoon.

A high of 12 C is expected today with a UV index of five or moderate, Environment Canada says.
