Canada’s Bitfarms To Sell $123 Million Of Bitcoin Amid Crypto Exit

Canadian crypto miner Bitfarms (NASDAQ: $BITF) has announced plans to completely exit Bitcoin (CRYPTO: $BTC) as it pivots to focus exclusively on artificial intelligence (A.I.).

The Toronto-based company says it is targeting having zero Bitcoin on its balance sheet as it leaves the cryptocurrency space for good.

To that end, Bitfarms says that it has already begun selling portions of its BTC holdings, with plans to continue doing so in the coming weeks and months.

More From Cryptoprowl:

The company generated $28.2 million U.S. in realized gains from Bitcoin sales in 2025, signaling active disposals during last year.

While Bitfarms has not disclosed the exact number of Bitcoins it sold, management made clear that further sales are planned.

Management at Bitfarms has said that they hold 1,827 BTC, currently valued at $123 million U.S.

“In time, we will have no Bitcoin,” said Bitfarms CEO Ben Gagnon on the company’s latest earnings call.

Bitfarms is one of several Bitcoin miners that is shifting its focus to A.I. data centres and high-performance computing (HPC) as crypto prices continue to sink.

Like other companies, Bitfarms is repurposing energy infrastructure for high-performance computing and A.I. workloads.

However, many companies plan to continue both mining BTC and running A.I. data centres. But not Bitfarms, which plans a clean break from crypto.

Bitfarms is currently advancing a 2.2-gigawatt development pipeline across North America and targeting A.I.-driven revenue starting in 2027, according to company projections.

The company is also in the process of relocating to the U.S. and rebranding to the name Keel Infrastructure, with shares set to trade under the ticker symbol “KEEL” in April of this year.

BITF stock has risen 140% over the last 12 months to trade at $1.90 U.S. per share.
