Cannabis companies will now deliver products to some shoreline concert venues
When you walk in through the gates of the Westville Music Bowl or the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater for a summer concert, there’s a new option available.
“I think music and cannabis go hand-in-hand the way that alcohol and music have gone for many, many years,” said David Salinas, owner of Hi! People. His company will deliver products to concert goers this summer at the Westville Music Bowl.
“You order online, and you prepay. We have prepayment technology that you can use. So, you make your payment and then you choose this address as the address for delivery, and then we’ll have it there in secure storage for you to pick up,” Salinas said.
There’s also good news for those worried about sitting near someone who just ordered a pre-roll: The venue is smoke free. There is no smoking allowed near the seats, but they did set up designated smoking areas around the perimeter.
Westville Music Bowl does have a lot of summer concerts coming up, including Goose on Sunday. But cannabis won’t be available at all of them. It will only be at concerts where more than 90% of the audience is over 21 years old.
“I love the fact that you can see the stars and the clouds when you’re watching and listening to your music – to the artist – so I’m excited for the partnership that we have here,” Salinas said.
In Bridgeport, a lot of big acts are set to take the stage at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater this summer. Just like the Westville Music Bowl, they have a similar cannabis deal with cannabis company Budr.

“We came up with a creative way to have the concert goers partake in our industry. And that was the next best thing which was the Budr kiosk utilizing our delivery service from our Stratford store nearby,” said Carl Tirella Jr., founder of Budr.
Budr will operate both with preorders and on-demand orders in Bridgeport. Deliveries will be within two set delivery windows.
“We actually saw the first show was more on-demand than preorders. Obviously, it’s easier for us logistically if people preorder their products prior to the shows, so that we can have it ready for delivery service at a given time,” Tirella said.
Whether you’re catching a show in New Haven or Bridgeport, cannabis might be just a few feet and a few clicks away.
Officials emphasize that it’s illegal to drive while under the influence. For more information, click here.
