PARMA, Ohio — A year after dual-use dispensaries first opened around the Buckeye State, Parma is about to get its first such location.

The Ohio-based cannabis dispensary Terrasana — providing access for both adult-use consumers and medical patients — is scheduled to open early next month at 11575 Brookpark Road.

“We’re having DCC (Ohio’s Division of Cannabis Control) coming through for final inspection this week,” Terrasana owner Chad Wise said.

“We’re hoping to do a soft opening by the end of the month with a full grand opening in early August.”

The owner said initially the business will employ roughly 10 workers with hopes of doubling that figure by the end of the year.

The Parma dispensary will offer a curated selection of Ohio-grown cannabis products.

“From flower, vapes, cartridges, edibles and beverages, we’ll offer pretty much the full range of allowed products in the market,” he said.

With dispensaries open in Columbus, Fremont, Garfield Heights, Springfield and Middletown, the Ohio-based marijuana company invested $1 million into renovating the former Jordan’s Family Restaurant site.

The 3,600-square-foot building offers a modern retail layout with ample parking.

“Our goal is to have a full product of service for Parma and the surrounding community customers,” he said.

Parma Mayor Tim DeGeeter, who welcomed the new business to the city, noted Terrasana has committed for period of time to have off-duty police on the premises handling any parking issues.

“After voters approved to legalize cannabis, city officials took interest in being a host city due to the strong potential economic revenue gains for the city,” Parma Mayor Tim DeGeeter said.

“During the zoning and process, the ownership worked very well with the city on their significant investment on the building and landscaping plans. I look forward to the opening of our first dispensary in our city.”
