Three people were arrested and charged with offences including cultivation of cannabis, possession with intent to supply and possession of a bladed article.

Fire crews and negotiators were called to Station Road in Millbrook to rescue the man stuck on the roof using an aerial platform, after which he was detained into custody.

Police said the man had got stuck while trying to escape from officers.

The force also discovered cannabis factories at Ashcroft Road, Paddock Close, and Fleeshman Road in Luton, and at Marlborough Road in Bedford.

Det Ch Supt Duncan Young said: “These operations were carried out by teams from across our force, from community officers to specialists from our drugs focus desk.

“It evidences that we are relentlessly targeting drugs supply and trafficking. We know that it is at the root of crime both in Bedfordshire and further afield.

“Drugs remain the main commodity of choice for organised criminals and a priority for our activity.”
