PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WLOX) – Dozens of people turned out on Sunday to enjoy live music and also learn about medical cannabis.
420 Gulf Coast and Mississippi Canna Health came together for one big weekend festival.
“It’s more than just cannabis, it’s all about public health,” Regina Liddell, Mississippi Canna Health founder, said.
Mississippi Canna Health Founder Regina Liddell is hopeful events like this will break down the stigma revolving around Marijuana use for health benefits.
“I would like to think of myself as somebody that’s a good resource for anybody that wants to get their cards or just wants to know how to treat with cannabis,” she said.
Liddell said a lot of health conditions can be treated with Cannabis.
“People that suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, it’s actually a mood stabilizer for them that I’ve seen,” she said.
Inside the building next door, patients were being walked through the process of getting certified and obtaining a Medical Cannabis Card.
“The main thing is getting patients certified on the health care side over here,” Liddell said.
Consumers could also find products that weren’t medical cannabis. Cynthia and Leroy Maxey with Franchise Vital Health were selling plant-based nutrition products.
“Vitamins only – all vitamins and healthy nutrition,” Leroy said.
“We like to start over here with our coffee. We have three different types of coffee right here, so anyone interested in some healthy coffee. We would love to have them understand what it’s about and get healthy at the same time,” he said.
Other vendors were serving up hot dogs and ice cream, and of course, music echoed throughout the weekend.
