In 2023, states where recreational use is legal generated more than $4 billion in tax revenue.

Even though most states have legalized the drug in some fashion, it’s still illegal at the federal level.

Cannabis operators say it’s impacting the industry’s business, and some fear theirs could go up in smoke if nothing changes.
