A cannabis farm consisting of more than 70 plants has been seized by police following a raid.

Following reports of suspicious behaviour, West Midlands Police officers and National Grid searched a property in Nunts Park Avenue in Coventry.

Once inside they found “a comprehensive cannabis grow” throughout the house, the force said.

No-one was inside during the raid and an investigation remains ongoing to find those behind the farm.

Cannabis is a Class B drug which can carry a prison sentence of up to 14 years for supply and production.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Wherever we receive reports about suspicious activity like this, we investigate and work to build an intelligence picture telling us where this kind of crime is happening.

“With regular targeted operations and patrols, we can keep drugs off the streets of Coventry.”
