Cannabis plants worth £1m seized in village drug raid

Two men have been charged after cannabis plants worth an estimated £1m were seized from a village in West Lothian.

Police raided the property in the Redmill area of East Whitburn on Thursday morning.

Det Sgt John Irvine said a “significant recovery” of between 1,000 and 1,200 plants was obtained from the cultivation.

The men, aged 44 and 47, are due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court.
