Cannabis vape cartridges sold at 21 “adult use retail stores” are being recalled because they contain high levels of pesticides.

The Office of Cannabis Policy issued a recall for Yani adult-use vape cartridges produced by NorCo Outdoor Cannabis after receiving a consumer complaint about an adverse health reaction, Maine OCP wrote in a statement.

“OCP’s investigation included testing on the batch of vape cartridges alleged to have caused the adverse reaction,” the recall reads.

“The products are being recalled due to those testing results showing unsafe levels of the pesticide Chlorfenapyr.”

Inhaling cannabis containing “unsafe levels” of Chlorfenapyr can lead to high fever, sweating, nausea, vomiting and/or altered mental status.

Affected products were sold in stores across Maine between July 10 and Oct. 16, 2025, in the strain “Watermelon Chimera.”

The products were sold in half-gram and one-gram cartridges.

Maine OCP advises the public to return these products to the place of purchase or dispose of them.

“Any consumer who has ingested these products and is experiencing symptoms or adverse reactions should contact a health care provider immediately or dial 911 if there is a medical emergency,” the OCP advises.

All adult-use cannabis sold in Maine is required to be labeled with a product batch number.

Products included in this recall will be labeled with the following information:

• Strain name: Watermelon Chimera
• Product type: 0.5-gram live resin vape cartridges and 1-gram live resin vape cartridges
• Batch number: 1A40D0300006145000011115
• Dates sold: July 10, 2025 – October 16, 2025
