BREWTON, Ala. (WALA) – Court documents show a case involving a Brewton woman accused of putting marijuana inside candy bags for a kindergarten Christmas party is now headed to a grand jury.
Records show 26-year-old Karima Frasier waived her preliminary hearing.
FOX10 News first broke this story on Dec. 22, 2025.
Investigators said a parent discovered what appeared to be marijuana in their child’s candy bag and contacted school officials. Police collected four bags of evidence.
Frasier was arrested and charged with distribution of a controlled substance to a minor and chemical endangerment of a child.
Authorities said Frasier brought numerous bags of candy to a classroom at Brewton Elementary for a Christmas party on Dec. 18, and inside was more than just sweet treats.
Superintendent for Brewton City Schools Kevin Wiessman said in December he’s thankful the students are safe and for the quick response from police.
