Casualty-focused MGA Casper Specialty UK Limited has launched Tundra Specialty, a new offering dedicated to the niche renewable energy sector, which will be led by Matthew Melville, who was most recently founder and CEO of Albus, part of Ryan Specialty Group.

Operating as part of Casper, Tundra Specialty will reportedly establish its own brand identity and underwriting strategy while leveraging the advantages of Casper’s platform, with plans to begin writing business by the end of 2025.

Melville commented, “As the global transition to cleaner energy sources accelerates, renewables is a major opportunity for the insurance industry – we are seeing this both through increased demand from clients and through growing appetite from capacity providers.

“With the team’s expertise in this vital and rapidly expanding sector, we believe Tundra will bring the market a highly relevant offering with underwriting expertise at its core.”

Alongside Matthew, Roger Mclean also joins Tundra Specialty as Head of Distribution, along with several additional staff, once their respective contractual terms have been honoured.
