Re “San Diego’s proposed crackdown on illegal cannabis deliveries gets committee OK” (Nov. 5): Many thanks to the U-T for publishing this. Nothing like a good laugh and great satire to overcome the usual litany of bad news on every page.

The mental image this “increased revenue plan” creates is someone holding a bucket full of big holes leaking water and yelling for the hose to be turned up to full blast as the solution.

I suspect that the City Council has been sampling all the legal and illegal shop products. How else could they come up with the proposal to make illegal pot — more illegal! Brilliant. And add more permits and fees! Even better. Round up the usual suspects. Then, after the police have finished arresting the dispensers of thick and useful plastic bags, they can chase down and search every UPS truck they see.

And people say comedy is a dead art.
