Steve Ciobo, Managing Director and Head of Global Affairs at Stonepeak, recently joined anchor Dan Murphy on CNBC’s Access Middle East to discuss the investment landscape in Asia Pacific and the Middle East, the importance of disciplined investing there amid strong competition for strategic infrastructure assets, and the launch of our newest platform in the region, Peregrine Cold Logistics.

“On your base case, on your investment underwriting, it’s really critical to maintain investment discipline,” he noted. “You can’t just race into an opportunity because you want to be able to plant a flag. If you do that, it’s going to be your LPs that ultimately probably pay the price for that.

“So investment discipline is critical – and really understanding who your partner is. For Stonepeak, we’ve got the ability to deploy capital in a structured way, [with] downside protection, [and] make sure that when we do invest, we can be there from the buildout all the way through operations.”
