The Coastal Bend Bays Foundation held its 26th annual Earth Day-Bay Day to educate and engage the community on environmental awareness.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — From protecting exotic birds to protecting the environment, the Coastal Bend Bays Foundation celebrated its 26th annual Earth Day-Bay Day event at Heritage Park.

It was all about raising awareness and educating the community on how to better care for our planet.

The event featured a variety of interactive activities designed to engage attendees of all ages.

Project manager Satosha Patterson shared how important this festival is for raising environmental awareness.

“You know, we absolutely feel just honored and privileged we can continue this tradition, holding the free festival for the community. It is so important to get our young ones engaged and learn about what they can do, the measures they can take to help our environment,” said Patterson.

As the festival continues to grow, the focus remains on educating all generations.

Wallie Coley, a trustee board member, said the event’s impact helps instill lifelong environmental awareness.

“It is about education, educating our young ones so they get involved and active all their lives and taking care of their environment, not just for themselves but for everyone,” said Coley.

The event was also emceed by our very own chief meteorologist Alan Holt, who guided the crowd through the day’s activities.
