March 9, 2025
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Each week on Community Link, Carolene Mays takes a look at an organization or business that is making a positive impact on the community.
This week, Mays was joined by Links Incorporated to highlight the upcoming Black Family Wellness Expo that is going around the country.
Deborah Oates and Stacey Myers, members of the Indianapolis chapter of Links Incorporated, said that the international non-profit was created in 1946 to enrich African Americans. Members of Links Incorporated started the Black Family Wellness Expo to reduce health disparities found in Black communities.
IU Health will offer blood pressure screenings, breast screenings, vaccines, and dental care at the expo. Food trucks and activities will make the event fun while promoting your health.
