AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Multiple people registered complaints today about a proposed Xcel Energy solar farm north of Amarillo.
The facility would be one of eight projects meant to meet growing electricity demands if approved by the Public Utility Commission of Texas.
Documents show it planned for 1,300 acres north of Loop 335 and south of Cherry Avenue and between Western Street and Broadway.
According to the documents, Xcel’s New Mexico customers would pay for the installation because it is meant to meet New Mexico renewable energy rules.
