Creative illustrations raise environmental awareness at Riyadh exhibition
May 9, 2026
RIYADH: The Saudi Environment Week 2026 exhibition “Green Impact” recently opened in Riyadh, bringing together programs, awareness campaigns, and interactive activities.
The exhibition seeks to foster a sustainable environmental impact by raising awareness of environmental protection, conserving natural resources, enhancing vegetation cover, and safeguarding wildlife, in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
It includes several awareness activities and interactive displays, including one showcasing the skill of local artists, whose works highlight environmental issues, the importance of water conservation, preserving natural resources, protecting wildlife, and contributing to the protection of biodiversity and plant life.
The drawings address the impact of negative practices — such as illegal logging, littering, indiscriminate hunting, uprooting shrubs and plants, and excessive water use — on ecological balance.
They also highlight the effects of climate change and global warming on plants and air quality, as these practices disrupt ecosystems, increase erosion, desertification, and drought, and threaten terrestrial and marine areas.
Held over a week across several regions of the Kingdom, the Saudi Environment Week 2026 exhibition offers the public opportunities to learn about sound environmental practices and their impact on improving quality of life.
The exhibition also emphasizes the importance of developing vegetation cover, combating desertification and drought, conserving water, and protecting wildlife and biodiversity, while fostering collaboration between government entities, the private sector, and non-profit organizations to address challenges.
