Detroit-area cannabis processor booted from Michigan’s weed industry
March 28, 2025
Michigan’s Cannabis Regulatory Agency has permanently closed the marijuana processor license that had been held by two people running a marijuana pre-roll business in Hazel Park.
The former licensees, Hanna Shina and Jaklin Shina — who were operating Flavor Galaxy LLC on John R Road — are also permanently prohibited from operating or working in any licensed marijuana-related business in the state, or seeking any marijuana business license.
The permanent closure of the processor license and other actions against the former licensees are in response to various violations of the Michigan Regulatory and Taxation of Marihuana Act, including false packaging claims about the content of its pre-rolls, sold under the brand name “Amnesia,” improper or lack of required product labeling for its marijuana vape cartridges and failure to keep adequate records, the CRA stated.
Additional violations were failure to conduct required safety testing and adding a large amount of marijuana product to packages after they had been sampled for compliance by a licensed testing laboratory, the CRA stated.
The violations were uncovered during an investigation prompted by an anonymous complaint last year, according to the CRA.
The CRA’s consent order permanently closing Flavor Galaxy LLC’s license and related actions was signed March 24.
