Dixfield bust yields 23 pounds of cannabis, 1,600 plants, police say

DIXFIELD — A search at a residence on Porter Road Saturday revealed a large-scale illegal cannabis grow operation with more than 1,600 plants, police said in a statement.

A search warrant was issued after law enforcement received a tip about the illegal operation, said Oxford Sheriff Chief Deputy James Urquhart.
The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office along with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies executed the search warrant. The joint operation produced over 23 pounds of processed marijuana and 1,647 marijuana plants, Urquhart said.
No one was at the home when the search warrant was executed. Records indicate the property is owned by a 38-year-old woman out of Boston. The investigation is ongoing.
Porter Road is located off Main Street, which is also Route 17 and U.S. Route 2.
