Doctors Hospital of Augusta investing millions to expand operations

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Doctors Hospital of Augusta is investing more than $150 million to expand their operations in the CSRA.
The expansion includes expanding two hospital towers, the construction of a freestanding emergency room in Evans, the development of Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs, renovations for program growth, and extensive renovations and equipment upgrades across the hospital.
Capital investments include:
- $86.5 million for a two-floor vertical expansion and renovation
- $15 million for a new freestanding ER in Evans
- $6.7 million to develop new Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs
- $14 million for infrastructure renovations
- $27.8 million in equipment upgrades
The third floor Burn Tower and fourth floor South Tower will be expanded, while the sixth floor North Tower will be renovated.
The freestanding ER in Evans is set to open Fall 2025 and include 11 treatment rooms and imaging services.
Graduate Medical Education will introduce residency programs to the hospital.
When completed, the expansions will add more than 110 full-time jobs.
