Donate your old kit and help the environment
March 31, 2025
We are supporting Green Football’s ‘Great Save’ campaign, encouraging supporters to donate old football kit and play their part in the fight against climate change.
Supporters can head to the foodbank donation point on the podium level, near the Tony Adams statue at the North East corner of the stadium (between Gates E and F) to drop off your old kit from 5.45pm until kick-off before the Fulham game on Tuesday, April 1.
What is Green Football’s Great Save?
Running from 11th March to 2nd April, this is the world’s biggest climate-football campaign, bringing together supporters, players, pundits, clubs, leagues, grassroots teams, and schools to tackle climate change and protect the future of the game.
This year’s theme is all about keeping sports kit in play for longer—whether by donating, selling, reusing, or upcycling—helping to:
- Reduce waste
- Save money
- Support those in need
Supporters can also make a difference by scoring green goals for Arsenal in the Green Football Cup. Take climate-friendly pledges and actions by signing up here.
Why does this matter?
Climate change is already impacting football. The FA estimates that 120,000 grassroots matches are cancelled every year due to pitch flooding, and by 2050, one in four English clubs could face partial or total stadium flooding.
Meanwhile, 100,000 tonnes of sportswear end up in UK landfills annually—equivalent to 951 football shirts thrown away every minute. Landfills produce methane, one of the most harmful greenhouse gases, driving climate change. Keeping kit in play for just nine extra months can reduce its carbon, water, and waste footprint by up to 30%.
We are proud to be the only football club in the world with a net-zero target approved by the globally respected Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This commits us to achieving net-zero by 2040, as part of our ongoing mission to reduce our environmental impact and inspire meaningful change within our community.
Let’s team up to reduce waste, support our community, and make football more sustainable—one kit at a time!
