EBCI Tribal council votes to suspend board running its cannabis business

CHEROKEE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Tribal council voted on Thursday to suspend the board in charge of the company that runs its cannabis business.
The EBCI voted to remove the chairman and the rest of Qualla Enterprises’s board at its latest council meeting.
Councilmembers said during the meeting that the suspension is pending an investigation by the Tribe’s Office of Internal Audit and Ethics.
