Electric vehicle fire sparks garage blaze in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A residential garage fire broke out early Tuesday morning in the Lakeville Estates neighborhood in the 300 block of Riverton Point in Virginia Beach.

Virginia Beach Fire Department and EMS units were dispatched at 5:09 a.m. and crews arrived at 5:14 a.m.

Firefighters discovered heavy smoke and flames coming from an electric vehicle that was parked in the garage of the two-story home. Crews removed the vehicle from the garage and had water on the fire at around 5:22 a.m.

The fire was under control at 5:22 a.m. and completely marked out at 5:31 a.m.

According to officials, there were no injuries to civilians, firefighters, or pets.

There were no displacements of occupants and the origin of the fire was the garage.

This fire is currently under investigation.
