March 12, 2025

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island House Environment Committee will meet Wednesday at the State House to vote on bills involving climate change and recycling.

One bill would launch a new public messaging campaign about textile recycling, while another would extend the reporting and expiration dates of the special house commission on climate change and expand it by one member.

The other bills would establish a water use limit for new buildings in the state, and one would prohibit the licensing of any new high-heat waste facilities in the Ocean State.

The committee will meet at 4 p.m.
