European Sustainable Energy Week 2026 to focus on clean, secure and competitive energy
November 27, 2025
The 20th edition of European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) will take place on 9-11 June 2026, under the overarching theme of ‘A clean, secure and competitive Energy Union’, the European Commission has announced.
Meeting in Brussels and online, EUSEW – Europe’s largest annual gathering focusing on renewables and efficient energy use – will highlight the importance of building a secure and resilient Energy Union and providing clean, affordable energy.
The EUSEW Policy Conference features over 60 dynamic and innovative sessions hosted by the clean energy community. Next to the policy sessions, the event offers keynotes, the EUSEW Awards ceremony, and networking opportunities at the Energy Fair, celebrating the people, projects, and initiatives advancing Europe’s transition to clean and sustainable energy.

A call to experts: Shaping discussions on clean energy
Building up to the Conference, the Commission has now opened a call for policy session proposals until 22 January 2026, inviting industry representatives, policy experts, members of civil society and academia to shape the event and contribute their insights and expertise to the discussions on clean energy.
EUSEW 2026 will also award outstanding individuals and projects for their innovation and efforts in the field of energy efficiency and renewables across three categories: Local Energy Action, Women in Energy, and, for the first time this year, SMES driving Energy Efficiency. Applications for the EUSEW Awards are open until 29 January 2026.
Those who are interested can save the date for the Info Session, taking place online on Wednesday, 3 December, from 11.00 to 12.30 (CET).
Participants will hear directly from the European Commission about the event theme, the different milestones in the run-up and during the conference, and the application requirements and selection criteria for the different contributions – including how to propose and host a policy session and how to apply for or nominate someone for the EUSEW Awards.
A timeline, Q&A and the Info Session recording will be available on the EUSEW 2026 info page.
Other opportunities to be part of European Sustainable Energy Week 2026
Other opportunities to be part of the EU Sustainable Energy Week, such as becoming an exhibitor at the Energy Fair, a Young Energy Ambassador or organising a local Sustainable Energy Day, will become available during January and February 2026.
